JAY

It was 1978 at the age of 15 when Jay first started singing with his Parents, Jim and Jo Humphreys.  They started the Good News Singers which then changed to The Humphreys Family.  They traveled for 26 years singing all over the Eastern part of the United States and seeing many souls saved.  In 1995 his mom went home to be with the Lord.  The Humphreys continued singing for a short time and then came off the road.  After a short break, Jay joined the Praisemen Quartet filling the bass position.  After singing lead for 26 years with his family, this was a big change but very enjoyable.  Jay sang with the Praisemen Quartet for 4 years and he had the privilege to share the stage with many of Gospel Music’s greats such as Gold City, The Kingsmen, Tony Gore, Mark Trammel Trio, The Inspirations, The McKameys, Squire Parsons and many more.  Now, the Lord has opened another door for Jay and his daughters, Cassie and Cloe.  Jay’s wife, Melanie plays a vital role in the family group also.  Jay is excited to be able to travel with his family and states, “It is a privilege to carry on the Humphreys singing tradition with the third generation of what was started over 30 years ago.  I thank God daily for saving my soul and all the many blessings he has given me.  Our mission is to be an instrument for Him for the up-building of His Kingdom and to see people uplifted.  Thank you for your support in our ministry.  God Bless You All!

CASSIE

Cassie sings the Alto part and has been with the group from its start 15 years ago this year (2020).  She started singing with the “original” Humphreys Family at the age of two.  Cassie is married to Joey Moore and they have two daughters, Lyric and Lakin.  Joey runs the sound for JHT and works hard during set up and tearing down.  Cassie’s favorite group has always been “Gold City Quartet.” While traveling, Cassie enjoys shopping and eating at her favorite Restaurants.  Cassie states, ”I am glad to have been raised in a Christian home and to have the opportunity to travel and sing with my family.  My grandmother, Jo Humphreys, was a great influence in my life.  She passed away when I was 6.  She had a smooth alto voice.  I want to Thank the Lord for putting me in this family and giving me the talent to sing.  My desire is to use my God given talent to be an instrument for Him.”

CLOE

Cloe sings the Soprano part and loves traveling with her family.  Cloe has been singing full time with JHT since 2018.  She has been singing since she started talking.  Cloe is 19 and is currently a sophomore at West Virginia State University.  She is not only a full-time student but has a part-time job as well.  Her favorite scripture is Psalms 121:1 “I will life up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”  Her favorite singer is Lauren Daigle.  Her favorite gospel group is 11th Hour.  Her favorite food to eat is Taco Bell, of course.  Cloe states, “I Love singing for the Lord with my family!”
